Handmade die cut greetings card: “Hearts and pearls”

Description This is another wedding (or engagement, or even anniversary) card in which I’ve used the lovely handmade paper containing rose petals and other botanicals. I didn’t make the paper myself,  just bought a load when it was on special offer somewhere – and it’s only really now that I’m getting much use out of it. A word about that paper, before we continue… it was lucky coincidence that made one of the petals (the one used in the photo above) look like a heart. Most of them don’t, so please don’t be disappointed if you buy one of these cards and it doesn’t contain a heart-shaped petal. It will contain a petal but probably not a heart-shaped one. So, with that out of the way, let’s look at the rest of the card. The background is a piece of shimmery ivory pearlised cardstock, which I’ve embossed with a flowers and berries pattern using an embossing folder. Onto this is affixed a heart-shaped piece of the aforementioned petal paper, onto which I’ve stamped “llongyfarchiadau” in gold ink. I’ve edged the heart with stick-on half-pearls and diamante clusters, alternating all the way round the heart. This was time consuming so the price of the card reflects this. Finally, in each corner I’ve added two die cut hearts, cut from pearlised gold and rose gold cardstock. This handmade greetings card measures 15 x 15cm, is supplied with a white envelope, and is protected by a cellophane bag.
